Why buy a breeding to a “GOLD STAR” stallion??

Futurities are a way to do what you love while having an opportunity to make money at the same time…

If you are already considering breeding your mare, consider how much more valuable a foal would be if he/she could show in a futurity and possibly win thousands of $$ over their lifetime??

...wouldn't it be a lot easier to market a foal that has this money earning potential than one that doesn't???

Small breeders are starting to understand the power futurities have to increase market potential and to fund their horse activities -- More and more people are looking for stallions linked to successful futurities when choosing a mate for their mare.     More and more people are seeking grown horses that are eligible to show in the big futurities around the country so they can win money back while doing what they love -- showing.

WHY BUY A BREEDING AT THE STALLION AUCTION?? Won't I have to pay more money for it???

…now that you’ve decided that it is a good idea to breed to a GOLD STAR stallion,  should you purchase a regular breeding from the breeder --- or should you wait and purchase it at the auction??

......GOOD QUESTION.....

Buyers who purchase their breedings at the AUCTION are allowed to enter their foals in TWO futurity classes – not just one.

ALL BREEDERS who bred to GOLD STAR stallions are eligible to show in the “Open” class.   That means there will be dozens of entries….  (ie: Everyone in the nation who bred to Magnum Psyche, Painted Intimidator, and LM Boardwalk are eligible to show in the "Open" class and take a shot at winning some money...not all will come and show, but they all are eligible.)

Only buyers that purchased the ONE breeding offered from that stallion at the AUCTION will be eligible to show in the "Auction" class.   (**…in the Iowa Gold Star Futurity, the stallion owners also are given ONE entry into the auction classes for donating their breedings…. See auction rules)  That means the “Auction” class has much less entries – a maximum of 2 per stallion.      There will be the Buyer's entry and the Stallion Owner's entry for each stallion -- THAT's ALL.     Your chances of winning BIG money are greater not only because you can show in that class, but also because there is a LOT more MONEY in the auction classes.     ALL the money collected at the stallion auction (...minus a small amount for show expenses) is put into the prize money pot for the "Auction" class.  This is why many smart breeders purchase their breedings at futurity auctions.    They may pay a little more for that breeding, but their chances of winning money are greatly increased.

If you are a small breeder looking for the most value for your money --- FUTURITIES are your future

Prize money estimates for the IOWA GOLD STAR "Auction" class will be published soon... expect to see BIG numbers for those of you lucky 2005 buyers that will be showing your foals in the 2008 class!!

IF YOU HAVE AN OUTSTANDING MARE, AND ARE CONSIDERING BREEDING  IN 2008 -- THINK ABOUT PURCHASING AN "AUCTION" BREEDING.   It may be YOU who wins the jackpot in 2011!
