GENERAL RULES:
A.
The Iowa Gold Star Stallion Futurity shall be divided into two
sections.
1. Iowa Gold Star Futurity Halter.
2.
Iowa Gold Star Futurity Performance.
B. Fees must be according for specific
deadlines, or risk possible disqualification of entry.
STALLION REQUIREMENTS
A.
The owner or leasor of the nominated stallion must be in good
standing with the Iowa Arabian Horse Association.
B.
Stallion owners must nominate their stallions annually with the
current renomination fee.
C.
Reinstatement. If stallion drops out of program and later wishes to
be reinstated, reinstatement fee will be the current years original nomination fee.
D.
Stallions must be nominated to the Iowa Gold Star Stallion list
before mares that are bred to them can be nominated.
E.
Each year stallions must be nominated into the Gold Star Program.
F.
There is no limit as to how many mares can be nominated for any one
stallion.
G.
Colts currently enrolled in the Iowa Gold Star Futurity may be
nominated as an Iowa Gold Star Stallion at the renomination fee.
MARE REQUIREMENTS
A.
All mares bred to a nominated stallion in the Iowa Gold Star Program
who’s resulting foal is eligible for registration with the Arabian Horse
Registry of America, The Canadian Arabian Horse Registry or the
Arabian Horse Association are eligible to participate in the Iowa Gold Star Program.
B.
The mare must be nominated and the nomination fee of $50 per mare must be
paid by the advertised deadline of the year the mare is bred.
C.
The mare nomination form must be completely filled out, signed, and
nomination fee included before the mare nomination will be excepted.
D.
The resulting foal is eligible to be shown as a yearling, two year
old, three year old and in performance division classes regardless of sale
of transfer of ownership.
HALTER SHOWING OF YEARLINGS, TWO YEAR OLDS AND THREE YEAR
OLDS
A.
The foals resulting from proper mare nominations may be shown as
yearlings, 2 year olds and 3 year olds at the Iowa Gold Star Futurity show.
B.
The colts and fillies will be divided into separate groups, yearling
geldings will show with yearling colts.
C.
Prize money will be decided between the top five horses in each
division. Prize money amounts will depend on the number nominated and
class entry fees. (**Exception: Yearling Auction
and Open Classes
will name TOP TEN with Champion and Reserve being called out)
D.
Halter showing of two year olds or older stallions must be by a
handler 18 years or older.
DIVISIONS
A.
The Iowa Gold Star Program shall be divided into the following
divisions for both Purebreds and Partbred Arabians.
1.
Halter Divisions: Yearlings, 2 year olds, 3 year olds.
2.
Country/English Pleasure (Open and ATR)
3.
Junior Western Pleasure – Horses 5 & under
4.
Western Pleasure (Open and ATR)
5.
Hunter Pleasure (Open and ATR)
6.
Junior Hunter Pleasure – Horses 5 & under
7.
Arabian/Part Arabian Native Costume – Open
8.
Other Divisions may be added as needed
ALL NOMINATED ENTRIES
A.
Once nominated into the Iowa Gold Star Program, entries are entitled
to participate as long as properly entered into the futurity.
ORIGINAL ENTRIES
A.
This is an open nomination for any age get of a Gold Star sire.
RIBBONS AND PRIZE MONEY AWARDS
A.
Champion, Reserve Champion and 3 Top Five Ribbons. (**Yearling
Auction and Open classes Champion, Reserve Champion and 8 Top Ten Ribbons)
B.
Prize money will be divided according to percentage schedule shown on
fee schedule sheet.
